Answers to questions asked during the 9/8/18 BOD Meeting that the West Bay Representative had to get back to us on are as follows:
How many barrels of oil do the storage tanks hold and how big are storage tanks?
The storage tanks that West Bay uses hold 300 barrels of oil and are approximately 12′ in diameter and 15′ high.
How much traffic would there be with tankers hauling oil?
How many trips per week that tanker trucks would haul the oil out depends upon the wells’ production, as I stated at your Board meeting. Assuming that the well-produced an average of 100 barrels per day, the truck would pick up the oil from the storage tank every three days.
There was a question asked regarding who was responsible if West Bay tankers damaged County roads.
West Bay has producing wells in many counties throughout Michigan and we have not had problems with road damage. Some counties require us to bond the roads during frost laws, but those funds go unused.
There was a question regarding the decibel level at the drillsite during the time that we are actually drilling the well.
West Bay did a Sound Survey on a well we were drilling in Monroe County. The background noise 1/4 mile from the rig was between 46-60 decibels. At 150 feet from the borehole, no readings above 62 decibels were recorded. At 100′ from the borehole, readings were 80 decibels or less. On the rig the highest recorded noise level was 95 decibels – that was with all the equipment running during the 10-14 day drilling period.
